A neighbor who listens. A community advocate who brings people together.

I’m Bill Mok, also known as Fr. Bill—an Anglican priest, community advocate, parent, and former engineer. Richmond is my home, and I care deeply about the people who share it.
I came to Canada as a teenager and learned English as an additional language. That experience shaped my understanding of belonging: finding your voice, building relationships, and learning to participate in a wider community. I cherish my Chinese heritage and my Canadian identity, and I believe both enrich the way I serve.
Bill。
From Engineering to Community Service
My background in electrical and software engineering taught me to ask questions, understand how things work, and look for practical solutions. Ministry has deepened my appreciation for the human experiences behind every issue—the relationships, struggles, and hopes that deserve our attention.
I serve as rector of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Richmond and through 360 Community, creating opportunities for conversation, connection, and participation. My faith inspires my commitment to human dignity, justice, and compassion. I welcome working with people of every faith and none.
Why I Build Bridges
Through community work and conversations with residents, I have met people who care deeply about Richmond but feel disconnected from one another. I want to help create more opportunities for us to meet, listen, and work together.
I believe our different cultures and experiences can enrich a shared Canadian life, grounded in democracy, freedom, equality, human rights, and responsibility for one another. Building that life means reaching beyond familiar circles, learning to communicate across differences, and caring about the whole community.
I am especially committed to listening to people who are too often overlooked, including those experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction, or isolation.
A Continuing Commitment
As a parent of two children, I care about the opportunities and challenges facing the next generation. My involvement in public education and youth mentorship reflects that commitment.
In 2026, I ran for Richmond School Trustee. Although I was not elected, the conversations and relationships from that journey continue to shape my service. My commitment to Richmond extends across education, community well-being, inclusion, and public participation.
I also welcome invitations to speak, lead workshops, or facilitate conversations in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin.
Let’s Get to Know One Another
If you see me on the street, say hello and introduce yourself. If you see me in a coffee shop, come over and chat.
Whether you have a concern, an idea, or a different perspective, I would love to hear from you. We do not have to agree on everything to begin a meaningful conversation.
